Might be worth talking to the landlord and just checking with them on what they would prefer for the install. It might be that if it's a professional installation they won't have an issue. I was renting an apartment when I was first licensed as a ham. I got permission to put a 2 meter antenna on the (flat) roof, tripod-mounted to a piece of heavy OSB and weighted with cinder blocks, so no holes. I ran the coax (with permission) down the side of the building and through a hole I drilled in the wall next to a window. It was a block building, so I had to go next to the window to be able to drill through wood. I just had to plug the hole when I moved out a year and a half later.

Many homes have soffit vents the coax could come through into the attic.   Mine are covered with chicken type wire to keep out critters.    In a couple homes I ran coax from the attic down through walls to existing cable TV wall F jacks.    The cable wiring went through the attic so just used the existing holes already drilled for the cable.

When we had Dish, I made a triangular board that mounted on the soffit boards on the end of the ridge of the roof. The Dish mount screwed into that board and the cable ran tucked in at the edge of the vinyl siding all the way down the edge till where it ran into a hole in the basement.

Well I know we need it to be pole mounted. I hope they won’t drill through the walls, because I don’t think my landlord would appreciate that.

>> Maybe this isn’t so off topic but it deals with tv. we're getting dish network on december 12, and we're renting our house and getting a tin roof so we need the dish pole mounted. so my question is how does that work? dish says the cabling can go underground, which makes sense, but how does it get from the dish to the box inside without going through the window, which dish said wouldn't happen? i don't see how it can't go through the window... thanks for any info!
