We’re still using ComStream ABR202 receivers. RDS Data channel port is serial only. Hope to upgrade satellite gear soon.

The latest Inovonics does it all through the Ethernet port. Data gets spit out the satellite receiver port to the RDS encoder. The older Audemat units we had been using needed a serial cable between it and the RDS port on the XDS.

Subject: RDS Encoder?
What are you all using to get full function RDS encoding into your signal? I keep looking at Inovonics, but they still use 9 pin serial ports to get data. My automation computer does not have a serial port nor does it have any slots available to put one in. Are there any dynamic encoders out there that use a usb connection from computer to encoder?
