Vellox was recommended to me years ago. It is classified as a hydrophobic coating. Here is one source:
http://catalog.vincor.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VL-LC410-6OZ

I tried cooking spray 30 years ago on the bottom half of an 8' solid dish. What a mess.

Had an inch of snow on the grass this morning and icy streets. I'm not ready for winter.

Haven't tried it personally, but yes, it should work. Some engineers use stuff like Rain-X with good results too though I doubt it lasts anywhere near as long. All those coatings eventually need to be reapplied.

Has anyone ever tried Neverwet?

http://www.neverwet.com/

I think it would work for a while but what happens over time?
