At a rather large TV and radio facility (a journalism school with 4 computer labs, 2 newsrooms, 4 post suites and 5 control rooms), we ran Intel 530 series SSDs on all of our workstations and servers (about 150 machines in total), both as their system drive and sometimes as a database/storage drive.  I don't think we had one failure in the last six years we have employed them.

However, for media storage with high-speed access, it was all spinning disks in SAN and NAS appliances, always in RAID.  We had many blade controller cards and HDD storage drives fail.  Because we had video as well as audio, the SSDs appliances were out of our budget for the massive amount of storage and not really necessary.

We did have a couple of Samsung SSDs for local media cache files at edit workstations.  They were good for working files.
