Sorry about that, Jim.

I thought there were some online tech forums that didn’t require login.  No?

Shows how often I’ve needed support, or had an issue like this.

The only sound adjustment I’ve seen in the DRR (digital reel to reel) is the normalize function, but I think that might live in the system settings under an administrator’s account. If your client is a NexGen user, shouldn’t they have an RCS/NexGen Customer login they can access, or call Tech Support toll-free to get the answer?  It should perhaps allow you to call in to the toll free number as a “tech with station KXYZ” explain your situation, and ask what settings you should look at and where they live.

Tech support comes standard with the NexGen software agreements and annual contract.

Hope that helps.

Sharathon is  a few weeks off yet, but we’re hip deep in mailings, audio production, graphics, etc.  – all with only a full-time Office Admin and myself, with a couple of trackers.

Thanks.  I did try their tech support but it’s only for those with a login as a customer.

May the Lord bless your sharathon!

Jim,

Not particularly familiar with that.

I know there are normalize settings in NexGen.  Perhaps that may help?

But again, it’s been a long time since we needed to mess with any settings.  Not familiar with where they might be.

Not feeling well, but still plugging on as we’re in the midst of Sharathon prep here.

Hope it works out.

You might check with RCS/NexGen’s helps on-line or their tech forums.  Tech support is usually very responsive.

Regards.

We’re working with a station which uses NexGen to record capture one of our programs off the AMR-100.

However, one of several files consistently sounds over-modulated.  We know the files are all the same level as we have fetched the file(s) off their receiver and they’re all at our standard -6dBFS.

My question is this . . . do you know if NexGen allows you to set gain boost or trim based on each record capture event?  This seems the only logical explanation for the problem.  If we’re right and you’re familiar with the software, could you point us to where the setting lives?

Or, is there something we’re missing??

Jim
