Started the 7 day free trial of Splashtop Business. Noticed the cost is per user. Does it let you share user info across different devices, or would I need to purchase additional users?

VNC is pretty good. I use it where I am currently, but where I was previously, I ran Chrome Remote Desktop on EVERYTHING and it was excellent. Loved it.

The alternative was VPN + Remote Desktop for Windows, which was a terrible pain. 50% of the time, the VPN server wouldn’t cooperate.

There may be some security issues with the free stuff, but it sure is handy.

Mark:

I previously would open my Chrome browser on all new installs and go to chrome://apps and then to Chrome Web Store where I could type in "Chrome Remote Desktop" and it bring up the extensions to install.  That all disappeared a few months back, and I have no place to go download and install the service.  I just checked again, that search yields no results that look at all like my Chrome Remote Desktop app to use.

Where to you find it?

There’s no indication on the Chrome Web Store that the extension is disappearing. In fact, the latest update was July 18. Where did you learn that it was going away?

Chrome RDT does not require any firewall settings, you can set any PC with it to be visible on your Google login, and the Android phone app is pretty nice as well.  But the product is being removed from Chrome already and only my older PC's which already had it installed can use it - the app is no longer in the Chrome app store for new installs it seems.  Once you learn to love something it just....disappears...

Does Chrome RDT require port forwarding or is it a client/server/client system like TeamViewer & LogMeIn?

I second Chrome Remote Desktop. I have it on multiple computers. Great for just KVM operation. It does have bugs, but I am getting what we paid for it.

Logmein has gone crazy with their pricing. Looking for an alternative that offers the same features. Leaning towards Splashtop. Anyone familiar with it? I've gotta have a stable platform that offers sound, Android & iPhone compatibility, and a very user friendly interface.

Thanks,
