According to the legend on the Comsearch map, there were 4K+ applications *before* the window freeze and about 1200+ after the window freeze.

Didn't the FCC say that there were less than 1,500 C-band site that they knew about? So, I wonder whether the legend has the labels reverse. It is confusing since it is applications and not currently licensed and registered sites in that map.

I didn't research anything further for the basis of the map and count,  Can you clarify this for me?

Thanks!

I posted my thoughts and comments below on LinkedIn.

As many of you have registered (or are still registering) your C-band downlinks — as my employer did earlier this year—, I’ve just posted a follow-up article regarding the whole concept of C-band and its use in broadcasting.

I’d be interested in your perspective about whether the proposed C-band change will really matter in retrospect, years from now.

BTW, Comsearch released an interesting graphic on the status of C-band downlink registrations before and since the FCC’s freeze on April 19.
