tech:radio is the username:password by default.

Just an FYI, I had the same issue of the GUI not updating, but I believe it was Chrome caching the old page. Pulled it up in MS Edge and it works great.

Now to experiment with the digital audio outputs to see if they work on one of the other LAN ports!  I've been hoping and wishing I could integrate these into our Axia plants more seamlessly.

Best,
Alex

Is there a default password for the XDS receiver web interface? I know I got something and logged in once when we first set it up, but it's not something that I regularly use, and have misplaced the information. Thanks!

Hi Tim, and anyone else with this symptom…

Please try a hard boot of the XDS receiver by physically unplugging the power cord for 10-seconds and then plug the AC power cord back in.  Also, be sure to clear the DNS cache on your web browser and key in only the IP address to the address bar. You should see the new interface pop up with a new looking login-in box.

We found on the earlier Firmware versions the XDS remote reboot function didn’t work all that well in getting completing new firmware installations.

I hope that helps!

I rebooted my xds and it confirms the updated firmware but I do not see a new receiver web interface like the pic of the one on the pdf that Dave Woodworth attached.

Am I missing something?

...and anyone using the ambos UI to transfer files from their XDS receiver will need to check their UI revision (Help menu) and update to 1.31.44 (or 1.31.50) in order to continue to transfer files from XDS. (the new XDS FW lists the files in a different format (xls) so i had to teach the UI a 'new trick'.)

you can update the UI any time, either before rebooting the XDS, or after. the newer UI revs will work with either the old or new XDS FW revs.

Harlan, it appears that you (like most of the world) have UI rev 030, so if you tranfer files from your XDS receiver, you'll want to update your UI (www.amb-os.com/ui).

Good question, Harlan!

The XDS Firmware update is being “pushed” this morning to all Moody Radio affiliates, so the only thing local affiliates will need to do is check their receiver(s) later today to see if the front panel LED is flashing rapidly (i.e., approx. 3x per second).  If so, that means the download is complete and the installation will be completed upon local reboot of the receiver. If it is flashing slowly (i.e., approx. once per second), that means it is still downloading the firmware.

I’d recommend you wait to reboot the receiver until a daypart when you are not using live programming from the XDS receiver.

To all on CRTech:

I thought I’d share this article we sent to all Moody Radio affiliates last Friday, July 27 in our Moody Radio March 2018 Satel-LINK e-newsletter:

Reminders

XD Satellite Receiver Firmware Update on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018
Moody Radio has scheduled an XDS Firmware Update on Wednesday, Aug. 1 for all affiliates equipped with the XDS-PROQ or XDS-PROR series satellite receivers. Operations managers and engineers at affiliate stations should prepare for the firmware update being pushed out that day to all XDS network receivers beginning at 7:00 a.m. ET.

The XDS-PROQ firmware update from Version 2.6.12 to the latest available Version 3.4.11 will bring receivers in the field up to date with the latest factory enhancements. The last firmware up-date was in April 2016—affiliates are sure to appreciate some of the new features of Version 3.4.11.
