Thread-topic: [CRTech] HT-10 Blower Motor

I've never tried to take apart a Rotron blower like this, but there are motor capacitors also begging to be swapped along with the bearings. I usually keep some in stock. They're 3uf/370VAC or something like that.

I too know nothing about that particular blower, But I too was able to repair motors for under 50$ with bearings from a local bearing shop. Of course mine had failed and I had taken it apart to get the right size bearing.

I don't know anything about the HT-10 blower....but I have replaced or had replaced bearings in the blowers of Harris 20H3 and Rockwell Collins 20 KW transmitters.  It's not a big deal other than getting the motor out.  If you don't feel qualified look for a local motor shop.  I'd think you could get the bearings changed for under $500...probably less.  I learned a trick from one shop.  He put the new bearing on an upside down clothes iron to warm the bearing so it would go on the motor shaft easier.

I have a Harris HT-10 transmitter that has a tired blower motor. I am hearing bearing noise coming from the blower. The transmitter has been in service since 1993 and I have an even older HT-10 in service at another facility. Gates Air wants almost 4200.00 for a replacement motor. The lead time is four weeks. I was able to do some research and found a vendor that will sell me a blower for 2400.00 with about the same lead time.

Still way to much $$$$.

Here is my question for the brain trust.
Does anyone have a spare motor sitting on a shelf that are willing to part with for a reasonable amount?
Has anyone successfully rebuilt the original blower motor?
Has anyone successfully retrofitted a different less costly blower into an HT-10?
