Chinese junk is cheap for a reason. My guess is it’s probably just bad caps, though. Simple enough to swap them out if you’re handy with a soldering iron,
plus you can install better ones than they came with.

Late last year we did a studio make-over and I installed 5 Whirlwind HAUC Headphone Amps.
These are little boxes that mount under the counter. I like that they have both 1/4 and 1/8 jacks and I can route different signals to different people.
When I started having some failures, I bought two as spares. Finally last week I sent three in for service. This morning I got a call that two more are bad. In
my opinion this is an unbelievable failure rate.
So I have two questions:
Do you have recommendations for a similar product?
Do you have experience with these or similar Whirlwind product?
