For these various cellular gateways, do any of them have the capability of connecting an external antenna? I am occasionally in some very fringe cell coverage areas where a conventional device does not get a suitable signal, but a very high gain directional antenna 10 feet off the ground can get usable service. It's just hard finding a device with an external antenna connection.
We use a Sierra Wireless GX440 cellular gateway for our remotes. They work well and give us an ethernet connection to the router we use with the remote gear.

How do you folks connect to the internet for remotes (audio over IP)? Our normal methodology has been overcome by technology and I need to figure out how to get a router at a
remote event connected to the internet. A cell phone usb wifi hot spot will not work.
Previously we used a Verizon Novatel USB551L modem connected to a Cradlepoint MBR1000 router (in the routers USB port) and it worked fine – until today when the USB551L died.
