Both.  I find still pictures easier to manipulate and zoom around/in/out.  But the video is useful as well.

Pause below and above each leg flange so that the bolts can be verified.  I have my Phantom 3pro setup to allow tilting the camera slightly above horizontal. Default is to not do so.

If you can get over the top of the tower, carefully line up over all 3 legs to check the legs for bows, kinks, etc.

Although (or possibly because) I climbed towers professionally for years and have flown my drone around and over a number of towers.  It never fails to cause a moment of anxiety when the video pops up over the top of the tower.

Now if I can just get a decent IR camera hung under my Phantom.

I've recently gotten my commercial drone license and am looking at doing some tower inspections.  I would appreciation your input if possible.  What are you looking for in a tower inspection?  How do you feel a drone could be used in this application?

I took a video of a tower at the facility I currently work at.  It is here:  https://youtu.be/qrE9nPIQrjs.  How could the video be more helpful?  Would you prefer still pictures or a combination of both?

Thanks for your input.  It's greatly appreciated.
