A inexpensive USB “On the go” adapter is all that is needed to connect to smart phones.   Many on ebay and Amazon.

Isn't it USB only? How many cell phones have a USB port?

Not very basic, but this displays signal strength in dBuV.   Very nice for relative comparisons.  Also measures much else such as modulation, RDS sub level, pilot level, decodes RDS, etc.

To the Braintrust:

Are you aware of any inexpensive, very basic, analog FM receiver modules? The goal is to come up with a simple "relative" field strength measuring device for fairly strong FM radio signals.

I've tinkered with a 2-transistor design with a single tank circuit front-end, that "kinda works", but I'd like something more selective, and a bit more sensitive.

Ideas? Links? :)

Meanwhile, a-Googling I will go. ;)
