Interestingly enough, here at $dayjob, we have a program for 6th and 7th
grade girls where they learn how to use the 3D rendering program
'blender' for designing models for 3D printing. The laptops they use,
all IBM/lenovo Thinkpads, are running a Linux distribution based on
Ubuntu (the 3D printer software has Ubuntu packaging, but not RPM
packaging, so it's what works). The girls have no issues using the
machines, other than getting used to a physical keyboard that doesn't
understand the gestures that tablet and phone keyboards have these days.
