I got a call from a lady who just burried her brother and the Family Life Today program we aired yesterday was helpful and she wanted a copy.

Normally I stop what I'm doing and burn a cd and they come and get it. In this case I had to leave and then forgot so Amb-os has overwritten yesterdays audio file.

Does any tech on the list readily have an ftp site log in for them that perhaps has yesterday's program?

Thanks

Randy

You might want to check with Family Life first.

You could be reproducing copyrighted material.

do you have a login to the amb-os ftp site (ftp-programs.amb-os.com)? it's there. email ftp@amb-os.com for help.

OK, so I'm NOT the only one who did NOT see Jim's original post! Nothing in SPAM, either. Hmmm...

Only RARELY do any Forum e-mails go there, so I tell it "Not SPAM" and then it's good to go.

Since I never see my own posts (which I have no idea how THAT happens) the system somehow discriminates on who sees them I guess...

I do like to be a mystery you all know anyway... ROFL!

Subject: Re: [CRTech] Solar interference and Unity 4000
It is the semi-annual event, spring and fall, where the sun "moves" directly "behind" the satellite, and it's RF noise overwhelms the actual satellite signal. The effect generally only lasts a few minutes each day, until the sun "moves" above the satellite arc in spring (which has now done, in CT) or below the arc in fall.

It is also a good time (on a sunny day) to see if there is ANYTHING obstructing your dish's direct "view" of the satellite... when the sun is right behind the bird, the shadow of the feedhorn will be in the dead-center of your dish. If there are any other shadows (trees, buildings, wires, etc) in the dish, this is when you will see these potential obstructions! :)

It is Spring sun outage time.  Not sure when it is in Florida.  I believe we are through that period here in Oregon.

Anyone else seeing solar interference the last few days.  I believe it is affecting our unity 4000.  Just checking to see if anyone else was having similar issues.
