I sent one last night  about record retention and got a reply this morning.  Why can't they give a yes/no.  I guess they don't want to be responsible.  Here is their message.

Description: FCC populated the PIF with EEO reports and Ownership reports. May all but the latest reports be removed or must they all be there?

Requirements and Retention Periods for the Online Public Inspection Files (PIF) System

 Dear Terry,

The Commission's recent order did not make any changes to what is required to be in a station's public file, and it did not change any retention periods. Rather, the Commission's order simply required that the public file that has historically been kept at the station be made available online at the Commission.

Stations are responsible for maintaining their online public file. If a document has been replaced, a contract has expired or the rules no longer require that a particular document be part of the public file, the stations will be responsible for taking appropriate action to reflect these changes. The Commission will, however, work with broadcasters to develop, where feasible, technological solutions to some of these maintenance issues.

Stations can review specific requirements and retention period information by logging in under the Entity Sign In for their station and navigating to the specific folder in the public file. Requirements information will be at the beginning of the section.

Is there a way to report a non-viewable document to the FCC?

Thanks to everyone for the ongoing discussion of the public file transition. This is very helpful!

EEO section states

Retention Until final action taken on the station's next license renewal application

So, my last renewal was granted (is that the “Final Action”) july 1 2012, I can turn off the automatically inserted ones with dates prior to that, correct?
