Once upon a time I worked as an A/V tech for the local school district. There wasa middle school auditorium that had FOH Backstage, instead of front of house……WE had the maintenance dept run us power and a 2” conduit and we pulled a snake through, about 150’ of it. Of course the school didn’t want to spend a ton of money so we bought a cheap snake. We got the local AM radio station into everything, inputs and sends alike. No amount of “ground this” or “lift that” or transformers or special RFI blocking XLR connectors would get rid of it.
What did get rid of it was replacing the cheap snake with a Mogami one…..the cheap snake was not very well shielded at all, and even inside a metallic conduit it still picked up 1440AM like a charm.
So when did you start picking up 1260? Recently? Is it a new install? What changed? Are you using a quality snake?

We're picking up 1260 AM (KHz) in our sanctuary, I'm pretty sure through the snake. Any ideas of how to make it stop?
