Just a visual.  Audio is coming via Comrex Access or other such similar means.

The hope for the Network Studio end is that the board-op, as well as an in-studio guest would be able to look at the large TV on the wall and see the host.  On the remote host's end, it would need to be a simple app on her computer or ipad… (don't know if she has an ipad, but I'd assume so…)

You just need a visual? You're not using the video for any other reason?

Why not a couple of iPads and use Facetime. You can set them to auto answer.

What are folks using to get a point-to-point video link with a remote live show host?  We had previously used Skype to get visual contact between our network head-end studio and the remote host in another city, but that ended when Skype ended support for "Skype TV" type units, as we were using a set-top camera from Logitech on our studio end… Yes, we could still setup a PC with skype on it, hooked to the studio TV, but that becomes much more complicated than just clicking a button on a remote.

On the other hand, if there are some point-to-point products out there, that make the connection without depending on Skype's (or other companies') cloud servers, I think I'd be happy with that…

More of an information gathering quest right now, because there's got to be something out there… right?

Thanks,

Brian
