The Z/IP One can also stream one-way... but now that I think about it, I don't recall seeing all the streaming features in Z/IP that are included in the Z/IP Stream. We already had a Z/IP Stream for streaming before we bought the Z/IP Ones for remotes so I never really explored any of the one-way streaming features of the Z/IP One.

The ZIP Stream is for streaming, while the Z/IP One is for point to point.

I looked at the Z/IP One but it didn’t do HLS, a technology we had committed to for our streaming.  It seems like more of a point-to-point codec than an encoder.

Telos Z/IP Stream (now Z/IP One) has its own processor and encoder with AES, analog & Livewire audio. It is *not* windows but is a commercial product that I am pretty sure is using some form of Linux on dedicated hardware instead of something you can load into your own Linux machine.

I waited a while to jump in on this thread because I was hoping that someone had found something that I had not. We faced the same situation: Rivendell automation but needed audio processing and encoding. Keeping the entire audio chain digital (no sound cards or analog conversions) was not possible with Linux alone.
We use a combination of Omnia Z/IPStream X/2, Orban Optimod-PCn, and StreamS Live Encoder to process and encode. All of which run only on Windows. Livewire proved to be the best way to link the Linux Rivendell to the Windows audio processing and encoding. Â I would love to be able to keep the entire audio chain in Linux but I couldnât find a way to do it. t.
