I received the following email from Calvary Evangelistic Mission
who operates 3 stations in Puerto Rico. WBMJ and WCGB are
operating on limited schedules due to the cost of fuel. WIVV is
still off as the tower is on the ground.
Here is the update:
Update Wednesday December 20, 3 Months since Hurricane Maria.
Our Electric in Puerto Rico today is 65.4% generated at Instant
Maximum Load. We still have NO POWER at the 3 Radio Station
Transmitter Sites. Most people are on their 3rd generator, We
are on our 2nd 50k Generator at 2 different sites. 55% of all
functional Telecommunication sites are still running on electric
generators. PR has 3,674 workers on the electric grid. We have
installed 12,899 poles & need 52,000 more. We also need
Transformers for the poles.
Note: 65.4% generated does not mean 65.4% of the people have power.
