Willie,

We use the amb-ux service with CentOS here and it works continuously without issues. Once in a rare while we miss having the UI to modify files, but if I have any concerns I can go into the UI from windows and look at stuff. I also can tell amb-ux to reload the last three days of programs if needed. We use the Amb-OS system to directly download the audio into a CentOS file folder from which a script imports the audio into the Rivendell library every hour (or whatever I decide to set it for), setting offset dates, levels, schedule codes, etc automatically. I can check the amb-ux error log to see all activity - what was downloaded, when, what was deleted by Amb-OS, etc. It's been a real time saver for us. Only on a rare occasion do we wish we had listened and edited some piece of audio but that would be true no matter what system is used.

Fear not,

Tom Van Gorkom

the linux version (amb-ux) is set up for installing on centos or ubuntu/debian flavors. not sure where mint falls.

Linux Mint is essentially a polished version of Ubuntu, so chances are good that the Ubuntu version would work fine.

Cheers!
