Because we're live-staffed 24/7/365, certain buttons are pressed *A LOT* (like MIC 1) so having easily replaceable, physical switches is paramount. :)

If it's a simple as lifting up the top of the board, removing quick-connects, popping out the old and popping in the new switch... that would be ideal! (If I were to design a board, this would be a key feature! EASY replacement of the most failure-prone parts!)

We’ve had an iQ for a few years now. No repairs have been needed. We’ve have two of the “original” SmartSurface consoles. I’ve had to replace some switcher in one due to some spilled water. Telos stocked the switches and they were not too hard to change out. I’d say moderate ease of service.


Can it be worked on while on-air? Good question.
