We also use Simian, and I have AMB-OS download several MP3 files
that get put into the automation and simply played back on-air as
MP3. This is not a problem in our facility as long as the sample
rates match and the level of the MP3 from the ministry is close to
what we use. They go on the air fine as MP3.
There are a couple that we still do convert and normalize
manually because the audio level is considerably hotter than our
standard. We also lose any name information in the conversion from
MP3 to WAV. I'm looking forward to the day when the FTP download
might include a conversion to WAV. :)

if there is a way to automatically name audio files from a
batch file or something.
several .mp3's using the Ambos FTP but often have to convert
and normalize them. The conversion usually strips away any
cart info like program name, etc.
I could open
each file and normalize it in Audition or give it a name...
but I'm opposed to extra work. If I can get a computer to do
it for me...then program the pc to do it. 😀😀😀
