According to what you said you may have PS and RT switched around in the encoding.   Generally station ID or Logos go in PS, and song title and artist go in RT.     Many stations put song title and artist in both PS and RT because some radios don’t display RT at all, only PS.

Sounds like your particular receiver doesn’t display both PS and RT (Radio text) fields at the same time.   It may display PS first, then jump to RT.   There is no standard as far as RDS displays are concerned.    Check how it displays on several radios to get a better idea.

I did notice another issue driving home though. I am only getting the artist and title disply when i first tune to the station and it only shows once, then i just get the slogn over and over. If i tune away and come back then i get he artist and title once again, and it does update, but then just the slogan over nd over even if tue ong changes. I did not configure the  unit originally so Ill have to dig into it tomorrow but if nyone has a suggestion where to look hen id love to hear it. On of our other stations which has a different encoder works as one would expect.

Ive basiclly only checked this on one reciever and honestly hve no idea if it was luke that before going through the mosely or not. Its all setup in rhe rack room still until ive worked it out then the rx, rds, and omnia will all go up to the tx site.

Hi Nathaniel,

I think you might be talking about the Model 730 RDS Encoder.

If I remember right, the Mosley has a female DB9 at the transmitter site.  The Model 730 also has a female DB9 on the back of it.  In order for the two to work together, you need to make / use a crossover cable with male ends on them.  The pin out is 2 – 3, 3 – 2, and 5 – 5.  Also for the Mosley, you need to put a jumper across pins 7,8 on the Mosley side.

There is a diagram on Page 65 of the manual that describes how to make the cable.

If you try this and are still having issues, please let us know.

Anyone successfully using a mosely sl9003 with an innovonics 703 RDS encoder? Ican pass seriel data from one computer to another just fine but when I hook my nexgen up to the rds through the starlink it send scrambled text….

I found a note on the mosely website pertaining to AZTEC RDS units suggesting 4800 baud. I’m setup for 9600 and it works with two computers but not with the RDS. I’m thinking it’s a setting on the nexgen machine but I cant fid anything different in the seriel port settings.

Thought I’d ask before I go through the significant hassle of lowering the baud rate on all of the equipment in question…

Thaks!
