A little late to this discussion . . .
According to the Vice President of the Puerto Rico Association of
Broadcasters, 54% of the 142 licensed radio stations are off the air
indefinitely. Indefinitely does not necessarily mean permanently or
even that they were severely damaged, but that they are not on the air
at the moment. All the rest are on with generators. One of our major
challenges is the instability of the electrical grid. Even when the
power is restored, it doesn't stay on. It comes and goes rather
violently. At our facilities in San Juan, one of our buildings gets
power on and off and the other one has only gotten power a time or two.
Communications are still a huge issue as well. If you read Spanish,

of 4 days ago.
In our case, we have managed to get WBMJ back up with limited
programming on generator. WCGB and WIVV are not operable at this
point. WIVV lost its tower, and WCGB was severely flooded with the
