Thread-topic: [CRTech] Find Audio

FWIW, the visual is from the peak file (.pk), which lets Audition load up the file quicker for sake of playing/editing. It’s strictly a visual thing, no sound data is present in that file. Reloading Audition would not fix this particular issue (as it’s a file corruption thing, not a program function thing). However, a reinstall might be a good thing to try if the issue continues to occur in the future with other files.

Also, just for grins and giggles, if you’re not able to find working wav files as I described in my prior post, then try rebooting. There’s a super slim chance that it could just be a failure to read issue vs a failure to write issue.

There is a similar storage window with Audition, but I get the same result.  The file opens, the visual is there, but no sound.  I hope I don’t have to get the talent back in to rerecord.  I might try reloading Adobe Audition from the CD.

Not sure if it’s applicable, but on Sadie I have a Project Manager file that’s in a pull down menu with each project file that shows me the audio living on the server.  When I “lose” audio as you’ve described, I can usually import my audio from the Project Manager file and it miraculously returns the audio back to the file.  Since it’s the same audio reading the same internal code, my edits are still there and readable.

Have you tried UNDO? (Sometimes more than once.)

I need some help retrieving an audio track.  I was editing a .wav file and when I saved the changes I lost the audio.  The visual is still there with Adobe Audition, but the sound is gone.  When I copy the file and open it in Audacity it’s blank.  Anybody had this problem before and solved it?  Have I lost the audio?
