Hopefully that's close enough to "foolproof" for anyone, and without needing to burn an optical DVD.

Yup, that about covers it!  One note regarding 32 bit support though: if you need such, then you will need to install CentOS 6.  Although the CentOS Project has produced a port of CentOS 7 for 32 bit Intel, that is not an officially supported architecture from RedHat. Hence, there are no Rivendell RPMs for it in the Paravel-Broadcast repo.
