Correct.  In fact, I have abandoned this approach to Rivendell installation due to this issue among others.  You can find the detailed technical rationale at:

For those with antique/obsolete hardware that is limited to 32 bit instruction sets, the following may also be an option:


Bear in mind that RHEL/CentOS 6 goes out of support in 2020.  If you’re installing on current (64 bit capable) hardware, RHEL/CentOS 7 is highly preferred.  That is the platform upon which all current work on Rivendell is being done.
