I don’t think the mixer though can send a mix minus to the USB port on the mixer.  The client is also using the USB port on the mixer for the final mix to computer to Audacity to record it.

Since it is a droid, try a usb cable between mixer and phone.  You can also try wave pad software for free.

Hi CRTech group,
I have a podcaster friend that wants to use Android style smartphone(s) to get phone guest caller audio to and from a Mackie mixer- the typical Mackie with all 1/4” TRS inputs and outputs.  He also wants to look at getting Skype guest audio to and from the mixer too using the same Android phone but would only do one at a time.

What adapter cords from the TRRS 3.5mm plug from a smartphone to line level mixer audio work well?  For this purpose low hum and low hiss is preferable over caller prestine caller audio.

If it was one way audio from the caller to the mixer that would be easy as a simple 3.5mm to 1/4” cord would work and does work.  However, we need to go both ways and have a conversation back and forth.  He also needs the caller to hear the open theme music so just using the phone mic won’t work either.  It must be wired both directions.

Any suggestions?

Peter
