Guess I needn’t worry too much about even trying to figure out what Windows is doing these days. I run a Mac here and don’t have to worry too much about supporting Windows boxes except the trusty clunkers that my clients have installed at transmitter sites!  I think one is running XP and the other Windows 7.

Now to go clean the soot off the desk in the hamshack that my recent lightening strike caused when it vaporized my ham gear.

the new 'creators version' of win10 installed itself on my computer yesterday. a Cisco tunneling app i've been using forever started crashing the OS - the new, friendlier, but still.... the blue screen of death.

today's surprise: no control panel. used to be in the right-click on start icon. even in win10 you wound up using it a lot, either directly or thru their 'settings' that often resorted to it to actually get things done. so now 'settings' supposedly does everything. we'll see.
it's prettier of course, but everything's different. sigh.
