I used to live about 300 feet from the 200 foot AM tower where I was chief engineer.   The station signed off at night, was tempted to run a coax to the tower.   But simply carried the SSB HF rig to the tower base.   There was a convenient AC outlet at the tower.

Hams reported mine the strongest signal they heard all year.
