I’ve gone to Mac OS for my day in, day out, git-er-dun system. I have Windows 7 in parallels for the stuff that won’t run Mac native (radio programming software and transmitter stuff mostly)

My online radio station runs Rivendell on a Centos 7 linux box. I’m developing a Pi-vendell (see what I did there) setup that will control a little switcher to run an emergency playlist of music on detection of 60s of continuous silence. If the station were capable of a backup STL feed, I’d like to have it try that first and if modulation isn’t restored then start the backup music.

I guess I just use whatever OS gets things done for that particular job, sometimes Linux, sometimes Windows, and quite a bit Mac.

yipes. remember the daily, hourly pressure from microsoft to upgrade your win7 and win8 machines to win10? now that millions did that, an estimated 10million got dumped by the "Creators Update" (i've yet to figure out who these "creators" are). if your older PC had a "clover trail" cpu, the Creators update doesn't work. sorry, no more win10 updates for you. "maybe" an occasional security patch.

Willie warned us :-) my win7 machines never got close to win10, and my win8's stayed win8 by procrastination... no, i tried it on one and went back.

you can read all about it in computerworld.com. look for the article or see if this link will work...
