I was looking at this thread this morning and wanted to mention that despite my negative review of the Innkeeper PBX based on my real world experience, I don't really think it's because the design of the box is somehow deficient. It's just that the audio being sent through those handset wires is generally pretty bad, and you can't make great audio out of a bad source.

Overall I'm OK with the JK products though over the years I've become a fan of the Telos phone interfaces for what I think is superior audio quality. With all the terrible sounding interfaces we have had over the years I have gotten much fussier about what we use (TI-101 comes to mind here, I can hear that crunchy sound on the air and know immediately when a station is still using one).

Hi Brian,

Some of my stations are using the Inkeeper PBX from our friends at JK.

I'm not a fan, it's kinda crappy sounding and not very flexible if your system doesn't happen to match up to its switch settings very well.

I've got some running on Vodavi systems and they work, with "meh" performance. One station tried using them on another brand of phone and there was not one setting that came close to working.

So my experience is it's a crapshoot as to whether it'll work at all, and the quality is only so-so even then.

Is there a easy-peasy way to interface a standard office phone system into a mixer board for recording phone calls?  I’m thinking some magic widget from JK Audio or the like?  A podcaster I've been put into contact with, would like to add remote host/guest functionality via their existing office phone.

The phone is a Toshiba, Model DP5022-SD.
