yes, you can definitely get plenty of fade on c band with a thunderstorm. easy to tell when there's a T-storm in the Raleigh area. or locally, on the downlink. i've seen 4-6 db drop on the Focus rcvr and none on mine, 5mi away, or vice versa with tstorms in the area.

that, after all, is why weather radar works, and how it can show you the intensity of a storm.

Curious where the ambos uplink is located in North Carolina. Our EbNo just dipped to yellow and alarmed me. I suspect it's weather at the uplink.
