Bill:

You might want to get a dehydrator and forget the nitrogen tank.  If you buy a new Andrew it will cost about $3,000.  Or you can buy this unit for less than half and install your own regulator.

And yes, you can take your regulator to Air Gas or some other place and have your regulator rebuilt.

Ok, thanks.   I haven’t had a lot of experience with these going bad.   With our current one, the output pressure varies a lot with changing input pressure as the bottle discharges.   Need to turn the adjustment handle several turns to compensate, a chore to keep the output where it should be.

Is this a re-buildable symptom?

We bought a more expensive one from Harris. Then, we had the original regulator rebuilt. We put that one back in service. We liked the meter scale better than the Harris. So the Harris is on the shelf as a spare.

What’s a good source for a nitrogen bottle regulator?

Our local nitrogen bottle supplier says $150 for the low output pressure ones.

Broadcast supplier $500 for an Andrew.

Why the price discrepancy?   Do we need the broadcast one?
