First issue I have to deal with is an old Wheatstone,  no longer supported  digital audio routing systems with a proprietary central route, the endpoint nodes for this system are failing. We are replacing that infrastructure with Axia nodes and a Cisco switch.

The Axia nodes are relativity inexpensive and I could not fit Axia consoles in the budget for all 8 the studio, and all of the studios are in desperate need of new consoles.

Automation system is Opx, all new automation hardware this year also.

Hey Bill,

What are you doing there? It sounds interesting. You are running the consoles audio into Axia nodes? Why not the console "surfaces" from Axia? What's your automation? Sounds a little out of the mainstream, and I'm interested.

I'm doing our 8 studio rebuilds here (at my day job at Cumulus) with Axia nodes for audio distribution and routing and analog consoles; Audioarts Air 5's and Air 1's. So we retain some of that audio routing flexibility of Axia but at lower cost.

I'm in love with Axia and the flexibility and support. It's a growing ecosystem that has really good support.

We use WheatNet. It's been fantastic.

I'm opposite of you, Bill. I prefer the Wheatstone look. But from a tech perspective, I also love Navigator, Glass E and all the other nuts and bolts.

I like the look of Axia, but some swear by Wheatstone aoip.  Any thoughts? I need  a simple 2 board setup with less than 8 sources at a time.
