Heh heh heh I'm not like most people, either... ;)

Thinking about that Sony receiver... I have one, and use it daily. It's nice as a "confidence monitor" to check the RDS on this station, as well as nice to listen to it! :)

As soon as the warranty expired on the thing, I opened it up and modified it. One mod was to the light on the front, so it would be very dim on the dimmest setting. Another mod was to add a 1 Farad cap where they originally had something like 4700uf for the memory backup. It lasts a LONG time now, instead of mere minutes. :)

I also installed a switch to lock it in analog mode... no more flipping to digital, altho now I almost never change the station. It stays on 104.9 ;)

The most important mod, tho, was to add a mini fan. The unit has nice louvers on top, so I attached the fan there, internally, to push air out. It draws air across the receiver module & power supply heat sinks. Keeps the unit nice and cool! :)

Willie...

(SNIP) And, remember how hot the Sony XDS home receiver gets. I figured the Aaron must have a newer generation chip set.
