Well, my luck is that the butt man page didn't tell me anything helpful. I did switch my audio source to 44.1 kHz, now but is spitting out a 64kbps aac plus stream with a sample rate of 48 kHz and everything sounds about 9% to high in pitch 🤔😲🙉

Sounds like it's time to read the man pages (a.k.a. the manual) for butt.  The specifics and possible configurations of butt are not something with which I'm familiar.
